I was so fortunate to celebrate Lili's new beginning today. I've never known a spirit quite like hers before and in her presence, I feel so honored and blessed to be called 'Friend'. Love your guts Lill's :) Congratulations!
Smoothies are the ONLY thing keeping me cool and satisfied this summer, but I may need an intervention, since this is my 5th or 6th this month :( I know they have an insane amount of sugar but I've granted my guilty pleasure 'staying power' through Labor Day, at least.
My mother brought along this sweet little dress when she and my father came out for a short visit last week; a wide belt and nude slingbacks made it my own. Thanks mom!

My sis was kind enough to help me out in a pinch last weekend, when I found myself racing home to place an "Emergency" order for this Andersen & Lauth maxi dress from Urban Outfitters. (Ahhh, the hazards of web browsing on a Blackberry). It was priced at $9.99 from $128.00 and there were only two sizes left!
Went to the market today-- knocked on a few cantaloupes, smelled the flowers, didn't buy anything. Evidently, the camera takes precedence over the wallet :) 
A few blocks away, in a random brick building, stands a consignment shop called 'Rags' and that's rather fortunate for me because yesterday, it was finally time to relinquish a pair of 7's that had been worn so often, the seat was merely one wash away from transparency. Trading the "Old" for the "New To Me" has become a routine due to the economic climate and I'd say I've become pretty good at it. I've been on hiatus lately; working on a few side projects and eliminating mental clutter by striking things from my perpetual To-Do List with a giant red sharpie.
I must admit that this isn't me today, rather last Wednesday when I did a little wardrobe change mid-day. Anyway, I bought this dress last summer on clearance at Old Navy for about $2.97. No Kidding! I've worn it about three times, July 4th 2008 being one. I love it and am certain I'll wear it several more times, but lets be honest- if I never did, I'd say I got my cost per wear, wouldn't you?
I live about a mile from the ocean and the marine layer is rather persistent on most days. Today was no different; noon came and went with the clouds still holding post on my street. Fortunately, the light and warmth of the sun is just a jog, bike, or car-ride away.I felt like wearing white and waving a flag, so I showered, dressed, chased the sun and captured the moment. Also, I was anxious to share my exqusite Consignment Shop find; the dress- which I'm told was in stores just four months ago and reatiled for $128. My price: $10.50 :) *Giddy*
