I pair, style, build, map, hunt and gather all in the name of my wardrobe. The more money saved, the more enjoyable the acquisition and yet at this particular juncture and given the title of this blog, it strikes me as odd and perhaps a little ridiculous that I've never posted photos here. Most of the blogs I subscribe to are fashion-related and the common thread among them is that the authors all share their own ensembles and style inspirations with their readers. I figure it's time I brave the ranks.
I woke up at 4:15 this morning to drive a friend to the airport. It was dark out and sheets of rain were falling from the sky. About 20 minutes into the ride, I thought it best to pull over; the only thought in my mind, making it home and back under my covers in one piece.
The fit is remarkable, the details are thoughtful and the craftsmanship is exquisite. Frankly, I consider this shoe a public service- And that is precisely how I reasoned that I would be doing both myself and my wardrobe a significant disservice if I didn't promptly rush them home with me. They will be making their debut on the dawn of my 30th year of life :)
This spontaneous getaway was a welcome respite from the storm of emotion and apprehension that I've tossed on over an impending milestone. In less than 2 weeks, I will be 30 years old. The elevation and shock of cool winter air gave me what I had been praying for. . . levity and a little perspective.
