Vegas!

Friday morning I received a call from my sister asking me to meet her in Vegas, two hours later I was on a plane. It was the perfect storm of good will, good timing, and good company. Sometimes you just have to shake it off; throw a pair of underwear, some alka seltzer, and a box of Godiva chocolates into your bag and GO!

The spontaneous girls weekend in Vegas was truly a delightful experience in every way. The weather was perfect, the service spectacular, the food delicious.... and no, we did not lose any money :)

Aria

The Corner Suite at The Aria was simply fabulous. Sadly, the photos I took come nowhere near capturing the quality and elegance of the details, but that just means I'll have to return again, soon!

Vodka Tears

Living in Los Angeles, I never met a food truck I didn't like..... but a Fashion Truck Oh My!! I almost wept when I discovered that it actually made its way right to the corner of my former workplace on Sawtelle and Olympic. How the French did I miss this?? It's as if it was coming for me and for the record, I would happily forgo red velvet chocolate chip pancakes just for a chance to sneak a peak at what's behind those doors. Such a brilliant concept! I hope to catch up to it soon!

Timing

This photo was part of a shoot by Nicola Wilson last week. Nicola was kind enough to allow a close friend of mine to exercise her cosmetic art muscle and I think I may be even more excited than she is with the finished product.

She e-mailed the photo to my attention this morning, literally moments after I read the following quote by Robert Greene, describing the symbol of Cupid's arrow:

"What awakens desire in the seduced is not a soft touch or a pleasant sensation; it is a wound. The arrow creates a pain, an ache, a need for relief. Before desire there must be pain. Aim the arrow at the victim's weakest spot, creating a wound that you can open and reopen."

Beautifully Belated

A dear friend who I hadn't seen in almost eight months, surprised me on Sunday night when she presented me with this lovely box of gifts. Both my birthday and the holidays had passed since we last saw each other, but she'd been quietly tucking away little things that she knew I'd enjoy in anticipation of a future visit.

While I'm no stranger to wonderfully kind and generous friends, it's quite likely that I'll always be pleasantly surprised by their thoughtfulness.

Alter

Remember my mini hankering over these boots a few posts back? It sort of snowballed into a full blown obsession by Thanksgiving-- just in time for Black Friday discount codes and an early birthday gift from my little sister.

Follow Me Down

The second week of the New Year brought bike rides, hikes, Birthdays, reunions, dinners, reconciliations and a Play. I'm so fortunate to be surrounded by such amazing people. It appears that distance is not an obstacle for those who truly care about you. How refreshing!

Soon

By my humble estimation, a pair of 5+ inch heels and a lace jacket seems like the perfect way to kick things off. Happy Belated New Year!!

I'm devoted to improving the content and frequency of the posts this year. I'll be adding vlogs and haul videos as well as 'Shop the Chronicles', where many of the pieces I've worn on this site over the last 3 years, and some other finds, will be available for purchase. I hope you'll come back!
