Calendar Girl

Some rely on electronic devices to keep order of their tasks, messages and special occasions-- I, on the other hand, am the lone descender. Voice messages that I cannot immediately return, directives born of conference calls, grocery lists, book recommendations, gift ideas, strokes of genius and other incessant musings- are all tucked away safely, between the fine lines of the diary-style calendar I've kept since I was 17.

Why won't I let my Blackberry do the work? Colorful ink, pretty paper, little red check marks and the wine that compliments the evening ritual of planning the day that follows :)

Golden Oldie

I bought this dress 2 years ago and I've worn it about a million times. I love the colors, the deep v-neck, the pockets, and the high waist- so you can imagine how excited I was to find a belt that helped breathe new life into this old favorite.

**Disclaimer: I know it's easier said than done but please disregard the red hot mess that is my hair in this photo. It's hot, I'm sweating and the mop on my head is bearing the brunt of it all.**

Path of Least Resistance

When you're standing in front of the coffee maker, in a daze, willing the drip to completion, while flipping through the mental catalog of your wardrobe, contemplating stylish options for navigating an unexpected heat wave-- a romper is your saving grace.

Forecast

What can I say? Some days are leather and some days are lace. I rushed and raced all morning, anxiously awaiting a date with my girls and all too stoked to debut my mummy leggings (Thanks Baby!)-- While yesterday, I sat pretty on conference calls in a pencil skirt and a button down. I still can't decide if the rough and tumble days are more fun than the prim and proper days :)

This Old Thing?

I can't even recall when I bought this shirt, it's been that long! Fortunately it's a staple and given that I treat my clothes with TLC, this piece should be around for at least another couple of years or more. My mother was right- taking care of your things does pay :)

Sabado Gigante!

I don't call myself The Consummate Shopper for nothin' and I trust that my readers demand truth in advertising, so I thought I'd put together a quick post to show you how I scored $142.00 worth of product for $24.00! tax included

I don't peruse every circular that arrives in the mail, but I do look for coupons and post cards that announce a Grand Opening or One Day Only give-aways and then I wait; Iwait for a sale or I wait until I need something that I can get there with the qualifying coupons, whichever comes first. . .or in this case, both!

A few weeks ago, CVS took the place of my local Long's Drugstore; along with the announcement card came (4) coupons- (1) $10 off $20 or more and (3) $5 off $15 or more. Today, I needed sand paper, mascara, concealer, club soda, and 'lady goods'-- I pulled my coupons and headed to CVS-- Lo and behold a 75% off sale in the parking lot. Aside from the goodies pictured ($142.00/$24.00 breakdown below), I also got some great deals on a few future necessities: Contac Cold+Flu (24 Caplets) $6.59/$1.65, Kleenex plus Lotion $2.29/$0.57, Dr. Ken's All Natural Toothpaste $5.99/$1.50, Scotch Tape $3.99/$1.00, Coffee Filters $2.29/$0.57. . .

*As Pictured*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frownies: $14.69/$1.75, Almay Pure Blends + Bonus Lip Gloss $13.99/$3.50, Prestige Skin♥Loving Minerals $11.99/$3.00, Physicians Formula Concealer Stick $7.99/$2.00, L'Oreal Bare Naturale $ 14.99/$3.75, Palladio Powder Brush $9.99/$2.50, Large Colonial Candle 'Juicy Melon' (for the last days of summer) $24.99/$6.25 and Large Colonial Candle 'Apple Orchard' (for the first days of fall) $24.99/$6.25, Prestige 'My Biggest Lashes' $6.99

Impulse

I must've made a million circles around this dress over the span of a month or so before finally breaking down and trying it on. I was sold on the fit, but the mystery of the who, when, and why it came to be, was ultimately what coaxed me to the register.

Separation Anxiety

As you know, I really enjoy shopping Target's GO International lines and historically I've been very successful at repeatedly scoring the pieces I desire, but somehow the Balmain-inspired vest slipped through my fingers. Shocking! I know- but the good news is that our separation was only temporary, as this little pretty has recently found its way back to me. More soon.

Holly Hobbie

A river of change at the bottom of my bag, an Amtrak ticket, a wallet overflowing with receipts, a trunk full of donations, several boxes in the living room, the birth of a friends baby, 30-day notice, a car accident, two new tires, 15 voicemails, 27 e-mails and one bottle of wine-- First week of August. . .Down!
