The air conditioner in the office gave up yesterday and even without my sweater, I was in long sleeves and sweltering, so this morning I dressed with both a blizzard and a meltdown in mind.
I'll be frank; I'd love nothing more than to claim that I remain perfectly coiffed and pressed while on Holiday, but the truth is. . . I don't so much as drag a mascara wand across my lashes when I have every good intention of spending my down-time in a blissful state of contemplation interspersed with periodic bouts of slumber.I threw this together on Saturday to run errands and grab a burger with friends, but this morning, when both Monday and the brisk air caught me off guard, I reached for a re-run.
Cardigan: The Limited, Dress: Forever 21, Tights: Juicy Couture, Boots: Nine West 'Sorin'

Wool that feels like cotton, bell sleeves and a scorpion-- Can you even stand it!!?? The best thing about uncovering buried treasure on a sale rack, consignment shop, or mass discount retailer- is going online to discover who is behind the label. In this case, there was just something about the detail of this cardigan that prompted me to get in 'Holiday' queue for the cash wrap; fully aware that doing so, would make me late returning to work from my lunch hour.
After days of rain, the sun finally snuck in, giving my Zebra pumps a chance to greet the light of day. I would have loved to share a photo of the front of the dress but they were taken elsewhere and the color simply didn't translate as richly as it did against this background.

I finally got to wear this dress today and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I bought it several weeks ago but I was holding out for the right shoes. It's playful but chic, warm but not heavy, textured but not busy and it suits the festivities of the season. My favorite detail is the exposed metal zipper; it adds dimension- catching the eye and drawing it down, hopefully down to the grey suede heel :)
It's cold and rainy. I want to play dress up, but that would mean getting out of my warmmies, so I've decided to share my new heels instead- they remind me of a Safari, which reminds me of heat, which makes me savor the cold :)
Am I the only person afflicted by Friday's that feel like Monday's? Dry Cleaners, Post-Office, Target, Gas Station, Market, Bank, Voicemail, E-Mail - As you can see, I dressed simply for the ease of in and out of the car. . . . and I'm saving myself for the party dress I've pulled for another Holiday bash this weekend :)
This scarf was one of my “Currently Coveting” picks last year. A few months after that post, my little sister gifted it to me. I love it for many reasons; it was a gift from her, the colors remind me of the occasion when I received it, it’s hand-painted, and it’s large enough to double as a sheet/blanket when I travel. Thanks Sis!
I really do love this dress and the Green Mary Jane’s make me smile,so the concept of the two together was a good idea- in theory. The look fell flat once I saw it in the fluorescent bathroom lighting. I think it was a little plain . . .
A friend of my Grandparents called from outside the country to wish me a Happy Belated Birthday, a surprise gift from my father arrived and I was able to decipher the password on the first guess, moments ago a friend strolled in with a Gingerbread Man and a Chamomile tea for me, I was just invited to a Holiday Party at a new downtown club tonight AND I got to hear my moms voice (a beautiful thing- any day). Hope you all have a lovely weekend! **Hearts**
