Status Quo
I was on hiatus, but I'm back now. Nothing new to report; still have the bruise on my right knee, didn't get any sun on my legs and am over a week late on the biker jacket post. I wore it last week, but I punked on sharing the pics. What can I say, I am my own worst critic. In other news, I think I'd like to read Larry King's new book. That is all.

The Fine Trim
I felt like wearing these shoes, so I put on those jeans and that top. That's the story in a nut shell. I came close to skipping out on photos, but my faithful sidekick thought we should share it and heavens knows, you don't fuss with the girl holding the camera :)

Monday? Already?
How pleasantly surprised was I to confirm that the upcoming weekend will be an extra 24 hours long!! With four more working days to go, I might as well make it fun-- Enter the $10 McQueen for Target shirtdress, paired with the L.A.M.B belt, borrowed from this lovely. Does it get any better? Honestly!

Saturday Splurge
If you've become familiar with my blog, you may have noticed that own quite a few GO International pieces. I don't stalk the stores or anything but when the lines debut, I almost always have my eye on something. Fortunately, I've only ever paid full price for three items; a Behnaz Sarafpour party dress, the Alexander McQueen Gore Skirt and today, the Tracy Feith cropped biker jacket.
Though I gasped when I looked at the tag, I reasoned that it was a wash since my damage has never been more than $15-$20 (once discounted) for any collection piece I've desired over the years. PLUS, I've been burned twice trying to score one of these jackets on the cheap on eBay *inserts frown*.
It shall here and henceforth be known to my wardrobe as 'An Investment Piece'. Buyers Remorse Not Included. It's leather, a perfect fit, and extremely versatile. Most Fantastic!! Another rave
P.S. I've since put my debit card on ice and bought groceries for the rest of the month as there will be no eating out until June :)

Two Things
I fell up the stairs. Yep, you know what I'm talking about. I tripped and took a header up a couple of concrete steps. Good times :-/

The Trenches
It was an odd experience to pull on my jeans this morning. Aside from the alarm, my Blackberry had a ton of 'Unopened Envelopes' awaiting me at exactly 4:30AM. I got up, showered, pulled my hair into a ponytail and decided on denim and layers because I knew I'd be getting my hands dirty :)

Care Package
My mother and sister love to shop together. This is due in part to the fact that they live closer to each other than I do to them and well. . . they have very similar tastes. No matter the distance however, they always remember me. In any given bag you might find a cardigan, scarf or nightgown that has been hand-picked for their missing link. Over time, each piece is carefully tucked away until there's enough for a box and then off it goes.
This dress arrived about a year ago, along with a gift card to Massage Envy, a framed photo of all of us on my Mother's 50th birthday, and a couple of other little treats. If you're anything like me, you love to see the things that you've gifted and know that they're being enjoyed. So here I am. . .

Air
I can't believe that a full week of May is already behind us. It's so easy to forget to live each day to it's fullest when you're caught in the day to day, list by list, paycheck to paycheck; But sometimes, when it's sunny outside and you get that tiny glimmer of ease-- you throw your head back, take a deep breath, open your eyes and there lies your freedom. . . .your life. Glorious!

The Sweetest Things. . .
Isn't it lovely when someone remembers you in a special way? A couple of weeks ago, I arrived to work to find a 'Thank You' card on my desk. If the message and sentiment of gratitude weren't enough, enclosed was a gift card to one of my favorite places. It's always nice to be appreciated, but it's even better to be remembered. Long after the favors and the pleasantries have passed, the memory of being thought of with fondness, remains.

San Diego Sunday's
A little something about me-- I'm fiercely protective of my down time. I don't allow my weekends to be spoken for by a myriad of obligations, spontaneous or otherwise. I would encourage anyone around me to say 'No' to the excess for just one day and see what it does for you.
There is so much peace and enjoyment in my surroundings, it's easy to tune out the cell phones, e-mails and television. Fortunately, much of my weekend entertainment is free; thanks to the sun, the water, my books, the boyfriends guitar and our trusty beach cruisers. I hope that you are all enjoying a peaceful and rejuvenating Sunday afternoon.
Best,
Nicole
